What is a single concentric swage nipple?
A single concentric swage nipple is a single, solid reducer used to transition from a larger to a smaller NPS while maintaining a common centerline. Compared to eccentric types, concentric geometry preserves axial symmetry, helping reduce off-axis vortices.
When to use a single conc swage nipple
- Vertical lines and centered layouts where symmetry is preferred.
- Connections to equipment where an aligned, centered profile is beneficial.
- For horizontal lines with gas or liquids prone to pooling, consider an eccentric swage nipple.
Standards & compliance
Single conc swage nipples are manufactured in accordance with the applicable Standard Practice MSS-SP-95 and ASME B16.11, and can be supplied with bevel, plain or threaded ends.
Materials
- Carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy steels for elevated pressure/temperature or corrosive service.
- Optional coatings/finishes and sour-service selections available on request.

Why choose a single concentric swage nipple
- Single-piece construction for robust integrity and compact overall length.
- Concentric geometry keeps the centerline aligned—ideal for vertical runs and equipment connections where symmetrical flow is preferred.
- Available with mixed end types (e.g., NPT × BW) to simplify field installation.
