High-performance stainless-steel pipe unions
A pipe union is a critical fitting designed to join two pipes in a way that allows them to be detached without any horizontal movement or the need to cut the piping. Unlike a standard coupling, a union consists of three distinct parts: a male end, a female end, and a nut that provides the necessary compression to create a hermetic seal.
How a pipe union works
The operation is based on the mechanical compression of the two internal ends (conical or flat seat) through the tightening of the central nut. This design is essential in systems requiring frequent maintenance, as it allows for the easy removal of valves, pumps, or filters from the line.
Technical standards & thread finishing
Our unions are manufactured in strict accordance with international standards to guarantee safety and interchangeability:
- Design Standard: MSS SP-83 (Class 3000, 6000 and 9000 lbs).
- Threading: Available with NPT (National Pipe Thread) according to ASME B1.20.1 for self-sealing tapered connections.
- Socket Weld (SW): For high-pressure permanent joints that still require the disassembly feature of the union.
